It's great that we have instant access to prescious information but more often than not, an overload of data can be quite overwhelming without being instituting some kind of filter. The idea of instant access may give the impression of efficiency but more often than not we waste a huge amount of time sorting through information.
To counter this, we have to become our own "web info curator" through the use of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds. To establish my own Personal Learning Network (PLN), in which I can get a steady stream of information from a select group of sources, I subscribed to Feedly.com. This service provides me an RSS reader I can use to subscribe to blogs from coaches and websites that I can use for my own professional development. At the moment, I have limited the RSS feeds I am recieving to the topic of basketball coaching.
